    Can I pick my own room?

    Absolutely! You can choose the floor, flat, and room numbers that you want. For any additional preferences such as same gender flat, you must contact the residence team about this upon creating your booking. They will try to fit your preferences as much as possible, be aware they are more likely to be able to facilitate this early in the year.

    Can I live with friends?

    Definitely! If you’re interested in living in a cluster flat with your friends, just let them know who you want to live with, and they’ll do their best to make it happen. Be aware, they are more likely to be able to facilitate this early in the year, with many sites selling out the closer they get to September.

    How do I know who I’m living with?

    They don’t give out names for privacy reasons, but you can get a better idea of who you’ll be living with via their Students App that you can access once your booking is complete.

    When can I move in?

    You will be invited to book your check in appointment from around two months before your move-in date (selected when booking). You’ll be able to book a move-in slot that works for you. When you book the appointment, you will need your university acceptance letter so make sure you have this handy. If you have any additional needs or medical conditions, please ensure you contact their Residence Team directly before you book your check in appointment. If you make a booking past the default contract start date, you will be invited to book your check in appointment as soon as your contract has been fully signed.

    What if I have additional needs?

    What do I do if I am not completely satisfied?

    Can I bring my pet with me?

    As much as they love pets, unfortunately, they’re not allowed in their accommodation unless they are registered service animals – sorry!

    Does my room come with bedding etc.?

    Their rooms come totally empty, ready for you to make your own.

    What about a TV licence?

    If you want to watch TV in your room, you’ll need a TV licence – unless they tell you otherwise.

    Can I have friends to stay?

    You’re welcome to have guests stay in your room, however, residents may have a maximum of one overnight guest for no more than two consecutive nights provided that does not cause a nuisance or annoyance to other residents in the building. If you are living in a dual occupancy room, overnight guests are not permitted.

    Will my flat get cleaned?

    Your student room and shared areas will be spotlessly clean when you arrive, but after that, it’s up to you! Don’t hesitate to ask their Residence Teams for advice or help if needed.

    What if I have an issue with my room?

    Need something repaired? You can log any maintenance issues using the Student App and their Residence team will be on hand to respond to requests as soon as possible!

    Am I allowed to smoke at the property?

    All their student accommodation is smoke-free, so please use designated smoking areas outside the buildings or in the courtyards.

    How do I connect to the internet?

    Connecting to the internet is easy – just connect your devices to the wireless network on arrival. You can also use an Ethernet cable, which you can plug into the network wall socket in your room.

    Are my things covered by insurance?

    In partnership with a provider, they include free contents insurance for every student that opts to live in one of their buildings. Just before you move in they will send you the details on how to register. Once you’ve registered, you can instantly access your cover details and policy documents to check exactly what’s included and have the option to upgrade the level of cover if needed. Their claims team is on hand to advise whenever needed.

    What can’t I do in my accommodation?

    For health and safety reasons, they don’t allow candles, incense burners, deep fat fryers, or any electrical appliances that don’t comply with British standards and statutory regulations. They are also unable to accommodate E-scooters or any other alternatives. Please don’t bring any of these on-site.

    Who will come into my room?

    They carry out room inspections three times a year and occasionally health and safety checks, but they’ll always give you at least 24 hours’ notice before entering your room. In the event of an emergency immediate access will be required.

    How much fridge space is there in the studio rooms?

    All studios come with a small fridge with a freezer compartment.

    Can I bring my rice cooker/electric pressure cooker?

    Sorry, but they don’t allow rice cookers or electric pressure cookers – their high voltage can be dangerous.

    Do you have an airport pickup service?

    They don’t offer airport pick-up services, but their locations have great transport links with buses, trains, and taxi services available. If you need help organising your transport then feel free to reach out to their Residence Team.

    Will my bedroom be inspected when I move out?

    Yes, your room will be inspected at least three times during your tenancy. This will be to ensure your room is maintained by both yourself and their team. Maintenance, damage, or missing items will be logged and addressed accordingly. After each visit, you will be informed of any issues found, and if there will be any charges incurred to correct them. You will have plenty of notice prior to their scheduled term-time inspections. However, you must book your final check out inspection with the Residence Team, when you are due to check out.

    What size is a small double bed?

    A small double bed, also known as a 3/4 size bed, measures approximately 120cm wide x 190cm long.

    Can I still receive deliveries?

    Depending on your location, your post may be delivered directly through your door by Royal Mail or collected from on-site post boxes. You can receive larger parcels at reception, but unfortunately they can’t accept liability for any loss or damage.

    Can I/my friends park at the building?

    Most of their buildings don’t have allocated visitor parking, but there are nearby locations for you to park. Contact the Residence Team at your chosen location for more information.

    How do I wash my clothes?

    There are on-site laundries with washers and dryers at all their locations. You can pay for these via an app on a pay as you go basis.
